Change begins at the end of your comfort zone

One of the most challenging and significant changes in my life took place on November 2, 2020 when I announced I was leaving PwC (after 33 years).

Chronology

  • November 2, 1987 - First day at PwC (C&L).

  • November 8, 2019 - Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) Life & Leadership Potentials training. (Who knew what this would lead to!)

  • March 23, 2020 - 1st of many sessions with my coach. It was time to explore leaving my comfort zone.

  • November 2, 2020 - Announced that I was leaving PwC after exactly 33 years with the firm.

  • November 2, 2021 - Today would have been my 34 year anniversary with PwC.

PwC was the home that I loved and contributed to who I am today.
PwC was not just my employer.
PwC was my family for 33 years.
I loved what I did, and who I became, through all of my roles.
I loved each and every relationship that developed within every part of the firm that I’d worked in.

You never really leave the place you love.
You take part of it with you and hope that you are able to leave part of you there.
How lucky was I to have had something in PwC that made saying goodbye to the firm so challenging.
